06/06/2012 – A month after the season opener, the Italian GT Championship is heading to the Mugello Circuit, located on the hills close to Florence, for the second round of 2012. Several interesting points will characterize the two Tuscany races, starting from the Ferrari-Porsche duel in GT2. In this class, Rocca-Romanini (Ferrari 458 Italia-Black Team), winner of the two races held in Vallelunga, will have to watch their back from the Porsche RSR of Victor and Giovanni Coggiola (CVG S.A.), that were particularly unlucky on the circuit near Rome and from the F 430 driven by the team mates Piero Necchi and Andrea Palma, at the debut in the Tricolored GT.

In class GT3, that is enriched with the entry of two cars, the Ferrari 458 Italia driven by Mancini-Lancieri (Easy Race) and the Corvette Z06R of Del Castello-Benedetti (RC Motorsport), the lineup Biagi-Colombo (BMW Z4-ROAL Motorsport) will have to defend the leadership from the attacks moved by Sonvico-Montanari (Audi R8 LMS-Audi Sport Italia), that are just three points behind in the classification. But they will certainly have to keep an eye also on the team mates Cerruti-Liberati on the second BMW Z4, on the two Porsche GT3R of Balzan-Barri (Ebimotors) and Monti-Passuti (Antonelli Motorsport), that are ready for a prompt counter-charge after the unlucky exit to Vallelunga, the Ferrari 458 Italia of Comandini-Fornaroli (Vita4one Team Italy) and the second Audi R8 LMS driven by Di Benedetto-Frassineti.

In GT Cup, Sanna-Stancheris (Lamborghini Gallardo-Imperiale Racing) will be absent as Giorgio Sanna is unwell and in the 1st Division the lineup Granzotto-Cicognani (Porsche 997-Antonelli Motorsport) will have the chance to pull away from the reigning champions, while in the 2nd Division the fight will be within the team led by Marco Antonelli, with Donativi-Bellini and Gaiotto-Magli (Porsche 997) on top of the provisional classification.

The programme of the second round of the season schedules the two qualifying sessions for Saturday (at 9 and 11.30 GMT+2), followed by race one at 17. Race 2 will begin on Sunday at 11.55 instead, with both races live on Sportitalia2 and in webstreaming on www.acisportitalia.it
