04/07/2012 – All is set at the Misano World Circuit for the third round of the Italian GT 2012 Championship. The Italian circuit will house this coming Saturday and Sunday another challenge among the most prestigious GT cars that will make even hotter this torrid summer weekend.

In GT2 the classification leaders Rocca-Romanini (Ferrari 458 Italia) will be absent due to a conflicting commitment of Tommaso Rocca, and the team mates Necchi Bontempelli at Black Team will have to challenge Victor and Giovanni Coggiola’s Porsche RSR (CVG S.A.) for the top step of the podium. In the occasion, Lorenzo Bontempelli, former GT3 champion in 2009, will be back in the Italian GT sharing the wheel of a 458 Italia with Piero Necchi, winner of Mugello’s race two with Andrea Palma.

In GT3 the BMW Z4 of Biagi-Colombo, class leaders, and that of Cerruti-Liberati (ROAL Motorsport) will be the cars to be beaten. The Audi of Dindo Capello and Andrea Sonvico, as well as that of Di Benedetto-Frassineti (Audi Sport Italia), the Porsche GT3R of Balzan-Barri (Ebimotors) and Monti-Passuti (Antonelli Motorsport) and the Ferrari 458 Italia of Comandini-Fornaroli (Vita4One Team Italy) and Mancini-Lancieri (Easy Race) will challenge the Munich coupè for the podium.

In GT Cup, the reigning champions Sanna-Stancheris (Lamborghini Gallardo-Imperiale Racing) will be back in the series after the absence of Mugello and will have to compete against the Porsche 997 of Cicognani-Granzotto, that are the current leaders of the 1st division, that of the rookies in the GT championship Negra-Giondi and that of Donativi-Bellini (Antonelli Motorsport).

The programme of the third round of the season schedules two qualifying sessions on Saturday (at 9 and 11.25 GMT+2), followed at 17.05 by the first race of the weekend. Race 2 will be run on 48 minutes + 1 lap and will start on Sunday at 11.55. The two races will be live on Sportitalia2 and web streaming on www.acisportitalia.it
