A pole, a fastest lap of the race and two victories. This is the feat of the crew made by Mirko Bortolotti and Alberto Viberti in Monza's second round of the Italian GT Championship. Imperiale Racing's lineup had a great weekend and took the win in race-2 leading the two Ferraris 458 Italia of Schirò-Berton (Villorba Corse) and Casè-Gattuso (Scuderia Baldini 27).

Thanks to the 40 points obtained, Bortolotti and Viberti got the lead of the classification with 56 points, proceeding Casè, Gattuso, Schirò and Berton. In GT Cup the top step of the podium was taken by Del Prete-Caso (Ferrari 458 Italia-Scuderia Victoria) that proceeded the Porsche 997 of Giacomo Spezzapria and Maino-Selva (Ebimotors). Zanardini and Perel (Lamborghini Gallardo) kept the classification lead with 650 points, ahead of Maino-Selva (47).

Race-2 commentary: At the start the battle got inflamed, but Bortolotti managed to pull away from the pack getting the lead ahead of a great Ferrara, who had started from the fifth row of the grid. Camathias installed himself in P3 proceeding Schirò, Mapelli, Capello, Beretta, Comandini and Casè, while Caso got the lead of GT Cup ahead of Durante and Passuti.

On top, Bortolotti put the hammer down and only Ferrara managed to keep his pace. The fight for P3 involved Camathias, Schirò and Mapelli that were all within less than a second, while Comandini had to retire due to problems at the brakes.

At lap 9 Mapelli found his way past Schirò, while Capello, sixth, proceeded Beretta, Casè, Sini and Ceccato. In GT Cup, Caso slipped down to P4 leaving the lead to Perel from Durante to Passuti. The fight for P3 got red hot at lap 11 between Mapelli and Camathias. Audi's driver managed to get past the Swiss but Schirò slided in the battle and managed to find his way past both drivers.

At lap 12 the drivers change window opened and Durante had to give away P2 in GT Cup due to a puncture. Back on track all the cars, Magli who replaced Ferrara, was back on top but the driver from Bologna had to concede the lead to Viberti, who replaced Bortolotti. Amici, after taking over Mapelli in P4, had a problem while downshifting at the first chicane and the flawless Frassineti could not avoid bumping him, which caused the retirement of both drivers.

Berton, who took over from Schirò, had the best of Magli taking P2, while Gattuso in fourth place led Calamia, Babini, Zonzini, Keilwitz, Cerruti and Postiglione. In GT Cup Passuti got the lead from Del Prete to Spezzapria.

At lap 20 Gattuso took Magli for P3, while Postiglione put in a great recover and gained P8. The final laps did not award further emotions and Viberti cruised towards the second win of the weekend. At the flag, Imperiale Racing's driver proceeded Berton and Gattuso, while Magli, fourth, closed his effort ahead of Calamia, Zonzini, Postiglione, Keilwitz, Cerruti and Pezzucchi. In GT Cup, Del Prete crossed the line as first ahead of Spezzapria and Selva, while in Coppa Lamborghini Huracan the victory went to Tanca-Zaugg from Galbiati-Dioniso to Massimo Mantovani.

Dindo Capello hit his track engineer Riccardo Villa at lap 12 while pitting to give the wheel to his co-equiper Zonzini. The engineer just got some bruises and was checked at the medical center before being released without any serious physical consequence.
