Holidays are over. The Italian GT Championship will be back in Vallelunga after the summer break as this coming weekend the fifth act of the season will go on stage. A total of 34 lineups will get on track in the classes GT3, GT Cup and for the Coppa Lamborghini Huracan, with all classifications still to be defined.

In the highest class, seven lineups belonging to four different makes (Ferrari, Porsche, Lamborghini and Audi) are split by 19 points and they all have potential and name to aim to the title. The red of Maranello cars colors the top three as Frassineti-Beretta (Ombra Racing) lead at 71 points, that is one clear of Casè-Gattuso (Scuderia Baldini 27), while Schirò-Berton (Villorba Corse) are six points adrift.

Thanks to the victory in Mugello's race-1, Donativi-Postiglione (Porsche GT3R-Ebimotors) are back in the title fight and proceed Bortolotti-Viberti (Lamborghini Gallardo), despite the lineup of Imperiale Racing only scored five points in the last four races. The 2015 title hunt will also include the two R8 (Audi Sport Italia) of Capello-Zonzini and Mapelli-Amici that are equal on points (52).

Among the novelties of the fifth round of the season, Thomas Biagi (Racing Studios) switched from McLaren to Porsche GT3R, together with his co-equiper Stefano Pezzucchi, Scuderia Villorba Corse will take Giuseppe Cipriani (Ferrari 458 Italia) to the debut and Andrea Palma will be back in the Italian GT, together with Ferdinando Monfardini on the second Gallardo of Imperiale Racing.

Comandini-Gagliardini (BMW Z4-ROAL Motorsport) will also get on track and will try to repeat the victory in race-2 of Mugello, while Sini-Puglisi (Corvette Z06R-Solaris Motorsport) will be at the start of the two races well motivated to close an unlucky period.

The Ferraris lot will be completed by the 458 Italia of Mugelli-Di Amato (MP1 Corse), Magli-Ferrara (Easy Race) and Galassi-Rizzuto (Team Malucelli), and they will be challenged by the two Porsche GT3R of Autorlando driven by Camathias-Calamia and Romani-Deodati.

In GT Cup the duel Porsche-Lamborghini will be renewed with the 997 of Pastorelli (Krypton Motorsport) brothers leading the class, and that of Maino-Selva (Ebimotors) that will challenge the Gallardo of Zanardini-Perel (Bonaldi Motorsport).

Among the new entries, the Portuguese Carina Lima will compete alone on the Lamborghini Gallardo of Imperiale Racing, Minetti-De La Reina (Porsche 997-Heaven Motorsport) and Valentini-Romani (Porsche 997-ZRS Motorsport).

The grid of class in single branded configuration will be completed by the Porsche 997 of Russo-Goldstein (Antonelli Motorsport), Venerosi-Baccani (Ebimotors), Bodega-Valori (Drive Technology Italia), by the Ferrari 458 Italia of Di Amato-Bianchi (Sport Made in Italy), Del Prete-Sposito (Scuderia Victoria) and the Lamborghini Gallardo of Durante-Comi (Imperiale Racing).

The cars competing for the Coppa Lamborghini Huracan will also be present in Vallelunga, as the provisional classification leaders Tanca-Zaugg (Raton Racing) will have to face Massimo Mantovani (Antonelli Motorsport) who is only 4 points shy of them. The second car run by the team from Bologna will be driven by Alessandri-Dionisio, while the Vincenzo Sospiri Racing team will double its participation taking the lineup Bar Baruch-Faccioni at the debut alongside the confirmed Manuele Mengozzi, who won the two races in Mugello.

The weekend programme schedules two separate qualifying sessions for the two classes on Friday (from local 16,05 to 17,55). The races (48 minutes + 1 lap) will also be separate. Race-1 GT3 will take plae on Saturday from 14,35, while race-1 GT Cup at 15,45, while the start of GT3 race-2 will be on Sunday at 12, followed by that of GT Cup at 13,10.

TV schedule features the live broadcast of GT3 race-1 and of both GT Cup races on Automoto TV, while race-2 GT3 will be aired by Raisport1. All the races will also be available through live web streaming at www.acisportitalia.it/GT.
