The number 27 has made the history of Ferrari and the deeds of the great Gilles Villeneuve made it an icon. This year the legend will continue with his son Jacques bringing it to the track in the Italian GT Championship on the red Ferrari 488 run by Scuderia Baldini.

Number 27 has characterized the Ferrari seasons of great drivers of the likes of Ickx, Regazzoni, Alboreto, Tambay, Mansell and Prost, but with Gilles Villeneuve it became a legend. His six wins are unforgettable as his duel with Arnoux at the French Grand Prix.

After the number 21 in his debut race in Canada with Ferrari colors and the number 11 when replacing Niki Lauda in Japan in 1977, the number 12 of seasons 1978 and 1979, number 2 in 1980, the Ferarri 126 CK of Gilles Villeneuve featured number 27 on its sides, and he kept the same number until the tragic race of Zolder on May 8th, 1982. Since then,  number 27 is associated with the unforgettable Canadian driver, who was capable of unique performances thanks to his spectacular and fierce racing style. His son Jacques is now called to make the legend of number 27 live on, still on a red Ferrari, the 488 GT3 that Roma-based Scuderia Baldini will field Endurance series of the forthcoming Italian GT Championship.
