An official communication regarding Imperiale Racing’s presence in the Italian GT 2019 Championship arrived this morning. The Mirandola-based team will be present in both series with two Lamborghini Huracàn GT3 Evo.

The #63 GT will be driven by Vito Postiglione and the Dutch Jeroen Mul in Pro in the Sprint series, while Pietro Perolini and the Australian Ben Gersekowski will be on the #19 in PRO-AM.

In Endurance, Postiglione-Mul will compete alongside Alex Frassineti, while the third driver to complete the lineup on the #19 alongside Perolini-Gersekowski is still to be defined.

Team Manager, Luca del Grosso is positive ahead of the forthcoming season: “The Italian GT Championship is going to be one of our main targets this year. The new regulations introduced Sprint and Endurance races and the International interest around this series raised its profile, therefore we want to do our best to get a strong result. We have a very strong lineup and our drivers will certainly manage to get the most out of the new Lamborghini Huracàn GT3 Evo. This is an extraordinary car that is the product of a great development work done by Lamborghini Squadra Corse that we will be proud to represent on track”.

All the drivers have already acquired some experience on the cars made in Sant’Agata Bolognese. Vito Postiglione is currently one of the strongest GT drivers on the International scene and has already been competing for the Italian team in the Italian Championship, in International GT Open, and in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe, after countless wins on Porsche, Ferrari and Renault. His co-equiper in the Sprint series, Jeron Mul, has been competing on Lamborghini since 2014 in the Italian GT with Imperiale Racing in 2016, and in International GT Open, Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe and Blancpain GT Series. The driver that will share driving duties with them in the Endurance series Alex Frassineti also has several victories on Lamborghini. Among all, he won the Italian GT3 title in 2017, but also came fourth in Silver Cup in Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup last year.

Pietro Perolini will also defend Lambo’s colors. Last year he won the Italian Super GT Cup. The 27 years old Australian driver Ben Gersekowski is also part of the new Imperiale Racing’s lineup. He has been among the protagonists of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe and Asia last year, where he came third.

Imperiale Racing’s drivers will conclude today the two testing days in Monza ahead of the start to the 2019 campaign from the same circuit on April 5-7 (Endurance) and May 3-5 in Vallelunga (Sprint).
