Muro Leccese (Lecce), July 4th, 2021. It has been a hot weekend in all senses at the International circuit La Conca in Muro Leccese (Lecce) in the occasion of the sixth round of the Italian ACI Karting Championship. This was the last and decisive round of Iame X30 Junior and Senior, the penultimate for KZ2, MINI Group 3 and 60 Minikart that will reach their conclusion on August 29th in Battipaglia.

Palomba and Irlando win the two finals of KZ2.
If the first KZ2 final has been a monologue by the classification leader Giuseppe Palomba (LG Motorsport/BirelART-TM Racing), the second final has been more exciting due to the great battle behind the winner Alex Irlando (CRG Racing Team/CRG-TM Racing). In race-1, Giuseppe Palomba dominated from lights to flag, crossing the finish line ahead of Marco Tormen (Modena Kart/ BirelART-TM Racing) and Alex Irlando (CRG Racing Team/CRG-TM Racing). The fourth place went to Leonardo Marseglia (Team Driver/KR-Iame), the fifth to Matteo Mazzucchelli (Top Kart-TM Racing). In race-1 Giuseppe Palomba won the Under-20 classification leading Leonardo Marseglia (Team Driver/KR-Iame) and Pio Francesco Sgobba (TB Kart/TB Kart-TM Racing).
Race-2 that had top 8 grid inversion based on the result of race-1 saw a lot of position changes. On top the battle was between Alex Irlando and Leonardo Marseglia, until when Irlando managed to have the upper hand on Marseglia. Behind the two, Palomba made the race interesting as he was trying to get several positions back, but he could not find his way past Marco Tormen, who kept P3 all the way to the flag. Tormen was third and Palomba fourth, Rocco Tancredi (BirelART-TM Racing), Matteo Mazzucchelli and Alex Maragliano (Renda Motorsport/BirelART-TM Racing) were also among the quickest. The podium of KZ2 Under-20 saw Marseglia on top, Palomba second and Maragliano third.
KZ2 classification: 1. Palomba points 167; 2. Tormen 139; 3. Pollini 96.

Martinese wins MINI Gr.3’s race-1, Olivieri race-2.
MINI Gr. 3 put in an excellent spectacle. Race-1 was won by Jacopo Martinese (CMT/Parolin-TM Racing) at the end of a good battle. He proceeded the Swede Oliver Kinnmark (Parolin Motorsport/Parolin-TM Racing) and the Australian Griffin Peebles (Team Driver/KR-Iame). The fourth place went to the Belgian Dries Van Langendonck (Parolin Motorsport/Parolin-TM Racing), the fifth to Emanuele Olivieri (Formula K Serafini/IPK-TM Racing) at the end of a 15 place recovery. Emanuele Olivieri has been the protagonist of race-2 completing another recovery race in which he managed to find his way past the classification leader from the Czech Republic Jindrich Pesl (BabyRace/Parolin-Iame) in the closing stages. They were followed by the Thai Enzo Tarnvanichkul (Team Driver/KR-TM Racing). Jacopo Martinese ended a great race in P4 recovering four places due to the top 8 grid inversion.
MINI Gr.3 classification: 1. Pesl points 186; 2. Orjuela 129; 3. Costoya 128.

In 60 Minikart Rocchio takes the win of race-1 and the lead of the classification with it. Sulpizio wins race-2.

Francesco Marenghi scores a double win in X30 Junior and takes the Italian title.
X30 Junior has been hot, very hot. The victory in race-1 went to Francesco Marenghi (Team Driver/KR-Iame) at the end of a good duel with Riccardo Leone Cirelli (Autoeuropeo/Tony Kart-Iame) and classification leader Sebastiano Pavan (Team Driver/KR-Iame), who recovered 7 places. René Lammers (BabyRace/Parolin-Iame) was also among the quickest and ended fourth leading Matteo De Palo (Team Driver/KR-Iame) and his teammate Antonio Apicella. Ermanno Quintieri (Pacitto Racing/Tony Kart-Iame) secured a good seventh place and the French Andy Ratel (Beaumont/CRG-Iame) was eighth.
The “temperature” in race-2 went beyond the limit as drivers were battling out the Italian title. The winner Matteo De Palo was penalized for unfair driving and the victory went to Francesco Marenghi, while Andy Ratel was second and Ermanno Quintieri third. Sebastiano Pavan was pushed out in the heat of race-2 and slipped down to P12. Therefore, the Italian title went Francesco Marenghi’s ways as he claimed 243 points, while Sebastiano Pavan ended second at 237 points. A total of 75 drivers took part in the X30 Junior Championship.
X30 Junior classification: 1. Marenghi points 243; 2. Pavan 237; 3. Cirelli 132.

Double win to Tsolov in X30 Senior, title to Carenini.
In the closing race of the season for X30 Senior there were no classification changes. Danny Carenini (Autoeuropeo/Tony Kart-Iame) needed the mathematical certainty of the title, but a great hand was given to him when his closest rival Manuel Scognamiglio had to give up. Carenini had to settle for two placings in the finals, which allowed him to take the lead in the classification. The hero of the day was the Bulgarian Nikola Tsolov (Team Driver/KR-Iame), who recovered 10 places in race-1 taking the win. He rounded off a great weekend winning race-2 at the end of another strong run due to the grid inversion. In race-1 Tsolov won from Riccardo Cinti (Virus Racing/Tony Kart-Iame) to the Israeli Ariel Elkin (Team Driver/KR-Iame). In race-2 the victory went to Matteo Bagnardi (BirelART-Iame) from Riccardo Cinti. Danny Carenini was fourth in race-1 and seventh in race-2. A total of 77 drivers took part in the X30 Senior Italian Championship.
