Qualifying heats of the ACI Karting Italian Championship in Siena

The Italian titles are up for grabs in KZN, big battle also in Junior and Senior of the IAME X30 and Rok. Live on TV on Sunday, September 13th on MS MotorTV (Sky 228 and FreeView) and in streaming from local 9.40 (Race1) and from 13.55 (Race2).

Castelnuovo Berardenga (Siena), September12th, 2020. Qualifying heats for the third round of the Italian ACI Karting Championship defined the pecking order for the finals that will take place on Sunday, September 13th in Siena with 233 drivers contesting the KZN, IAME X30 and Rok categories.

KZN: the three classes Junior, Under and Over on track.
KZN will see three classes on track: namely, Junior (from 15 to 25 years), Under (from 26 to 39) and Over (from 40) that will fight for the Italian title. The final stages on Sunday will include Prefinal and Final. The winners of the Final will be crowned Italian ACI Karting 2020 Champions.

Del Vecchio is the provisional leader of KZN Junior.
Edoardo Tolfo (FD Motors/Praga-TM) won two heats while Matteo Del Vecchio (Renda Motorsport/BirelART-Vortex) won one and will enjoy a front-row start in the Prefinal. Denis Tuia (Vzeta/BirelART-TM) went second quickest in qualifying and claimed P3 thanks to a second and a third place in the heats.
Classification after the heats: 1. Tolfo; 2. Del Vecchio; 3. Tuia; 4. Lucini; 5. Pastorino; 6. Giannini; 7. Rossi; 8. Minguzzi; 9. Cobellini; 10. Mariani.

All against Cavina in KZN Under.
In KZN Under Alessandro Cavina (Parolin-TM) dominated the scene taking two heat victories after the third place in qualifying. Riccardo Nalon (ErreEsse/Parolin-TM) came also to the fore taking one win and a P2 after being the fastest of group 2 in qualifying. The poleman Emanuele Simonetti (Sodikart-TM) had two troubled heats and had to run the second chance race that he won, but will start the Prefinal from the back. Alessio Mordini (Energy-TM) also had a good day with two-second places. The situation is quite open.
Classification after the heats: 1. Cavina; 2. Nalon; 3. Mordini; 4. Cittadini; 5. Gnudi; 6. Caregnato; 7. Dondi; 8. Pagani; 9. Denti; 10. Ferretti.

Tempesti is the favourites in KZN Over.
In KZN Over Claudio Tempesti (Praga-Tm) won both heats. Andrea Spagni (Modena Kart/BirelART-TM) went second twice, and Andrea Tonoli (TecSav/Intrepid-TM) and Roberto Profico (Tony Kart-TM) tried to challenge them. The poleman Sauro Cesetti (Maranello-TM) had a bit of delay due to an unlucky first heat and the ninth place in the second one after an 18 position comeback.
Classification after the heats: 1. Tempesti; 2. Spagni; 3. Tonoli; 4. Profico; 5. De Matteo; 6. Gagliardini; 7. Giannecchini; 8. Giacchetti; 9. Torsellini; 10. Mariotti.

The third round of IAME X30 Junior and Senior in Siena.
The two IAME X30 Junior and Senior are all set to run the third of five rounds of the Italian Championship. The next rounds will be in Adria on September 27th and Castelletto on October 25th. Scognamiglio is leading the X30 Junior at 124 points and is followed by Mazzola at 90 and Bondarev at 58. Comanducci is leading X30 Junior at 57 points and is followed by Russo at 50 and Carenini at 48.

Al Dhaheri very strong in X30 Junior.
The fastest of Iame X30 Junior was United Arab Emirates’ Rashid Al Dhaheri (Ippoliti/Parolin-Iame), who claimed the pole position and won two heats. His closest rival Manuel Scognamiglio (Gamoto/Tony Kart-Iame) came second twice, while Valerio Proietti (Giugliano Kart/KR-Iame) was third in the first but ended the second behind, and Rocco Mazzola (PRK/Tony Kart-Iame) completed a great comeback in heat one climbing up to P3. The two Newman Motorsport/Tony Kart-Iame Matteo Luvisi and Flavio Olivieri also had a good day as Giulio Olivieri (Righetti Ridolfi-Iame) and Oleksandr Bondarev (Honta/Tony Kart-Iame).
The classification after heats: 1. Al Dhaheri; 2. Scognamiglio; 3. Luvisi; 4. Olivieri Giulio; 5. Olivieri Flavio; 6. Stefani; 7. Mazzola; 8. Proietti; 9. Bruscino; 10. Zucca.

Great fight among Comanducci, Carenini and Russo for the lead of X30 Senior.
Cristian Comanducci (PRK/Tony Kart-Iame) confirmed to have the edge in X30 Senior after the double win at the opener in Sicily. At the second round in Sarno he had to face the challenge of Danny Carenini (Autoeuropeo/Tony Kart-Iame) and Vittorio Maria Russo (Team Driver/KR-Iame), but in Siena Comanducci won both heats after being second in qualifying behind Carenini. The duel on top continues. Carenini (after always on top) and Alessandro Lizio (T Motorsport/Tony Kart-Iame) closed the first heat behind Comanducci, while Vittorio Maria Russo was fourth. The second heat was won by Comanducci from Russo to Carenini, Carlo Aldera (TBKart/TBkart-Iame) and Erika Lavazza (PKT Swiss/Kosmic-Iame).
The classification after heats: 1. Comanducci; 2. Carenini; 3. Russo; 4. Lizio; 5. Lavazza; 6. Aldera; 7. Croccolino; 8. Ravera; 9. Ingolfo; 10. Palago.

Iannello super in Rok Junior.
Rok Junior run its first round that will be followed by the races in Adria and Castelletto.
Riccardo Iannello (KGT/Tony Kart-Vortex) claimed the pole position and won both heats by a short margin on Davide Marconato (New Tecnology/KR-Vortex) and Sebastiano Pavan (Team Driver/KR-Vortex) in the first and on Antonio Pio Abbate (Zanchi Motorsport/Tony Kart-Vortex) and Alexander Panaev (PCR-Vortex) in the second.
The classification after heats: 1. Ianniello; 2. Abbate; 3. Donno; 4. Panaev; 5. Larini; 6. Ladina; 7. Marconato; 8. Pedrini; 9. Cortopassi; 10. Maman.

Rok Senior in Locatelli’s hands.
Rok Senior belongs to David Locatelli (Tony Kart-Vortex), who won the two heats after the fifth time in qualifying. Alberto Bernardi (Sport&Comunicazione/CRG-Vortex) posted the pole position time in qualifying but then had to settle for P2 in the first heat and P14 in the second, while Daniele De Martis (PCR/Vortex) was third in the first heat and second in the second one. The Swiss Tanja Muller (New Tecnology/KR-Vortex) was among the quickest too, as she was sixth in the first heat and third in the second one.
The classification after heats: 1. Locatelli; 2. De Martis; 3. Muller; 4. Gagliano; 5. Colombo; 6. Mezzetti; 7. Bernardi; 8. Simonini; 9. Moncini; 10. Molinari.

Finals will take place on Sunday, September 13th with Race1 at 9.40 and Race2 at 13.55
