Gubbio 30 June 2012 – Paolo Andreucci and Anna Andreussi, Peugeot 207 Super 2000 won the Città di Gubbio – 25th Rally San Crispino, the race valid for the fifth round of the Italian Rally Championship and for the Rally Terra Trophy. The Tuscan works driver for Peugeot -- the brand now on top of the Constructors’ CIR classification thanks to this victory – after laying the foundations of his success in the first leg, pushed hard today only in the first lap on the stages and then controlled the comeback from his closest rival Umberto Scandola. The Veronese, navigated by Guido D’Amore, unfortunately managed to find only at times the right feeling with his Skoda Fabia that turned out to be not perfectly set-up, especially on the longest and selective sectors.

Behind them a nice battle was fought by two very different drivers, the young Stefano Albertini – Junior Champion in 2010 and Mauro Trentin, winner of all the runs held so far in the Rally Terra Trophy, to get the third step of the podium. Both behind the wheel of a Peugeot 207 S2000 belonging to Racing Lions, Albertini and Trentin ended respectively in third and fourth position. The driver From Brescia, Stefano Albertini is paying back the support obtained by CSAI, Pirelli and Racing Lions that contributed to his programme in the CIR.
Mauro Trentin obtained the whole lot of points in the Rally Terra Trophy, which awards him virtually with the victory of the series. Second in the Terra and fifth absolute was Luigi Ricci on Subaru Impreza, while Matteo Gamba was sixth and strengthened his leadership in the Independents Trophy.

In the Rally Junior Championship, Simone Campedelli , despite the win, did not manage to keep himself within the title fight but he is mathematically on top of the CSAI 2 wheeled drive Cup. The title will be contended in fact in the last round at Sanremo by the Renault Twingos of the Finn, Pajunen, very fast here and second behind Campedelli, and of Fabrizio Andolfi Junior, with the Citroen C2 of Andrea Nucita strengthening the leadership in the championship. In the Italian Production Championship, Max Rendina on Mitsubishi obtained the highest possible amount of points at the end of a difficult race due to his not perfect physical conditions.
