Targa Florio to be presented next Tuesday in Palermo

The press conference of the 98th edition of the oldest race in the world to take place on 6 May. The race to start from Piazza Politeama on Thursday 8 and to continue on the Madonie until Saturday 10.

Palermo, 2 May 2014. The press conference to present the 98th edition of the Targa Florio will take place in Palermo in the City Council building located in Palazzo delle Aquile -- Sala delle Lapdidi -- at 12.00 local time on Tuesday 6 May. Targa Florio is the third round of the Italian Rally Championship and the fourth of the Italian Historic Rally. The race organized by Automobile Club Palermo and Automobile Club of Italy is the most ancient race in the world as it started back in 1906 and the 2014 event will have sixteen validities..

Even if the await is mounting every day some more, the starting cereomny will open the race on Thursday 8 May in the exclusive and prestigious Piazza Castelnuovo in Palermo, just outside the Politeama Theatre. Verification and testing of the cars will take place on the same day in Campofelice di Roccella. The race will unfold in two days on Friday 9 and Saturday 10 on the Madonie's streets.

Politic authorities and organizers will attend the press conference to unveil all the details of the number 98 Targa Florio, edition that is growing and preparing the way to the important edition of the centenary in 2016.

The introduction party to the 98th edition of the race will take place on Wednesday 7 May from 20.00 at the "Circolo Telimar” on Addaura at Lungomare Cristoforo Colombo, the beautiful and famous sea resort of Palermo. This is going to be another mundane and exclusive moment devoted to the race.

Entry lists are still open - until Monday 5 May - but the challenges on the Madonie are shaping up among the interpreters of CIR on Citroen, Ford, Mitsubishi, Peugeot, Renault and Skoda. In the Historic Rally the spectacle will also be guaranteed by memorable cars that have been protagonist of world challenges in the past like Audi, Lancia and Porsche, back in Sicily among the fans. The drivers of the National Trophies will have a good chance to measure themselves against the collegues of the highest Italian Series. They will be racing only on the first day as stated by regulations.
