Adria (RO) 10/06/2014 – As the chequered flag closed the third race of the Adria's weekend, the 22 drivers of the Italian F.4 Championship powered by Abarth headed back to their team's tents not only for the usual technical debrief but also to talk about the Championship that already announced to be quite tight. Provisional classifications are quite clear and reflect the equilibrium shown on track. The only certainty that came out of the outing at Adria International Raceway is the absence of a dominator as proved by the three different winners of as many races: Lance Stroll (Prema Power Team), Ukyo Sasahara (Euronova Racing) and Andrea Russo (Diegi Motorsport). This shows that it is going to be quite difficult to foresee who the next winners are going to be in this first Championship in the history of Formula 4 racing.

Andrea Russo is the first championship leader as he was the only one always on the podium in Adria: he scored in fact two third places and a victory in race-3, on top of that, the fastest lap of race three earned him a further point that took his haul for the weekend to 53 points. Lance Stroll follows him two points short, as the Canadian won race-1, ended second in race-2 and closed with a P7 in race-3. He also obtained 5 additional points for setting the quickest lap in qualifying and 2 points for the fastest lap in the first two races. Continuity of results also awarded Leonardo Pulcini (Euronova Racing), who claimed P2 in race-3 as best result and got the third place of the classification at 30 points, proceeding race-2 winner Ukyo Sasahara (Euronova Racing), that currently stands at 25 points. The Japanese has been involved in a very exciting duel with Alan Valente (Jenzer Motorsport) and is leading the Swiss by only 2 points, while the other Japanese Takashi Kasai (Prema Power Team) is not that far in sixth place. Matteo Cairoli (Antonelli Motorsport), the Russian Ivan Matveev (SMP Racing by Euronova), Mattia Drudi (Adria Raceway by Cram) and the French Max Defourny (Cram Motorsport) complete the top ten.

Drivers born after 31/12/1995 are competing for the Italian F.4 Trophy powered by Abarth instead. The French Brandon Maisano (Prema Power team) is currently leading the pack at 63 points and is followed by the 20 years old from Malta Keith Camilleri (Malta Formula Racing). The latter has been competing in hill climb races on his island at the wheel of prototype cars. The third place of the standings is occupied by Bahrain's driver Ali Al Khalifa (Jenzer Motorsport), who moved to F.4 after gaining experience in international karting as many other drivers.

The bond between F.4 and karting has been one of the main themes in Adria: a lot of drivers made their absolute debut in car racing last weekend after completing their experience in karting. Adria's circuit owners are also involved with the world of karting and are starting to build a new karting track that will enrich the main track. The new karting track will house the WSK Final Cup next 30 October. Meanwhile, the Italian F.4 Championship powered by Abarth looks ahead to the next round in the calendar: the second out of seven rounds will take place in Imola on the weekend of 27 – 29 June.
