Qualifying sessions: Saucy and Lorandi at the front

Qualifying sessions see Gregoire Saucy and Leonardo Lorandi at the front

02/06/2018 – Saturday official Qualifying sessions have started with F4 at 9:00 on a track yet not used since the night stop, and so with low grip, determining higher lap times compared to yesterday free session 2. In such conditions, it is Gregoire Saucy (Jenzer Motorsport) to conquer pole position going below 1:54 (1:53.969), followed by poleman of session 2 Leonardo Lorandi (Bhai Tech Racing, 1:54.096), Petr Ptacek (Bhai Tech Racing, 1:54.142), Ian Rodriguez (DRZ Benelli, 1:54.255), Federico Malvestiti (Jenzer Motorsport, 1:54.278), the fastest in Friday free sessions, and Enzo Fittipaldi (Prema Theodore Racing), leader of the Championship, with  1:54.285.

In session 2 track has gained more and more grip and lap times have definitely gone down, permitting poleman Leonardo Lorandi to set a fantastic 1:53.259, followed by poleman of session 1, with 1:53.337. After them William Alatalo (Muecke Motorsport, 1:53.404), Ian Rodriguez (1:53.563), Olli Caldwell (Prema Theodore Racing, 1:53666) and Jack Doohan (Prema Theodore Racing, 1:53.707).

In the Rookie Trophy standings Jack Doohan is the fastest, followed by Petr Ptacek (Bhai Tech Racing, 1:53.808) and one of the Famularo Twins, Anthony (Bhai Tech Racing, 1:53.830).

Also, second best lap times between the two sessions are of great importance, since they determine grid position for race 3. So Gregoire Saucy will start in pole, followed by Leonardo Lorandi, William Alatalo, Olli Caldwell, Javier Gonzalez (Jenzer Motorsport) and Ian Rodriguez.

In the afternoon start of race 1 will be at 14:00. Sunday race 2 will start at 9:00 and race 3 at 14:50.
