Pizzi closes beautifully and wins the championship leadership

Pizzi overtakes Minì at the start and maintains the leadership ahead of the Sicilian and Beganovic

Gabriele Minì (Prema Powerteam and member of ACI Team Italia) is starting his third pole position thanks to amazing qualifications. At his side is Francesco Pizzi (Van Amersfoort Racing) and behind them Andrea Rosso (Cram Motorsport) and Dino Beganovic (Prema Powerteam and driver of the Ferrari Driver Academy program).

At the start Pizzi starts better than Minì and gains the first position. Followed by Beganovic, Rosso and Filip Ugran (Jenzer Motorsport) who immediately attacked the Italian and after a few laps passed him.

Pizzi, Minì and Beganovic make the void behind them with Ugran at 5 seconds after 10 minutes of competition.

Rosso in difficulty is overtaken by Sebastian Montoya (Prema Powerteam) and Pietro Delli Guanti (BVM Racing). The first three always in unchanged positions but with Pizzi slightly longer on Mini, while Baganovic is attached to the Sicilian.

The race ends with a virtual safety car on the last lap, with the podium made up of Pizzi, Minì and Beganovic. Behind them Ugran, Montoya and Jesse Salmenauto (Bhai Tech Racing).

"I am delighted with the hard work done with the team and I must say that the path with the ACI Sport Federal School since last December has made me grow a lot in the transition from karting to formulas", comments Pizzi.

The ranking after the first appointment of 2020 sees Francesco Pizzi in the lead with 58 points, Minì with 55 and Ugran with 49.

The next round of the championship seven will take place in Imola on 29 and 30 August.
