Frederik Vesti (Prema Powerteam), starts well from pole and maintains leadership, while David Schumacher (US Racing) loses a position overtaken by Enzo Fittipaldi (Prema Powerteam). Behind Jake Hughes (KIC Motorsport) and Igor Fraga (DR Formula by RP Motorsport).

Schumacher is thus forced to recover and lose time to overtake Fittipaldi, who does not have the fastest pace of the leading drivers, and then loses his position also on Hughes, who however must make several attempts on the Brazilian driver who resists the attacks with decision.

Between Vesti and Schumacher the gap is about two seconds and remains more or less unchanged throughout the race, until the Danish wins followed by the German and an excellent Hughes.

In race 2 this afternoon, starting at 17.30, the positions between Vesti and Schumacher will be reversed, with the German starting on pole.
