The stage has been difficult and dirty, Umberto Scandola had a troubled run behind the wheel of his Skoda Fabia S2000,that ended in seventh position, with the drama of a contact after the end of the stage.
The very long “Colle San Zeno”( 32,51 km) started at 9:27, with the Finn Hanninen losing a minute due to an accident where he damaged the front end of his car. The young Andrea Nucita, on Citroen C2, overtook the Polish Michal Solowow, while the number 11, Luca Betti got a puncture and had sto stop to replace the wheel, losing two minutes in this way.
The run was temporarily suspended, with consequent transfer, due to a burning car on track, the Peugeot 207 S2000 driven by Gianluigi Niboli. The pair came out of the car unharmed.
Campedelli- Fappani lost 4' due to the failure of the hydro-drive of the Citroen DS3 R3, while the reigning champion Paolo Andreucci got the lead of this stage's charts.
Stage 12, “Ima”, started with a 34 minutes delay on the schedule. Number 3, Dimitar Iliev did not start the stage and retired soon afterwards due to a problem, that he has been suffering since the initial stage of “Aquebone”, to the hydro-drive of his Skoda Fabia S2000. The stage went to Giandomenico Basso.
In the Production championship, Ivan Ferrarotti retired his Renault Megane Rs after an excursion at the “Colle San Zeno”. After Max Rendina's retirement, another contender of the Production's title was therefore out of the games. The first place of this stage was again obtained by Giandomenico Basso, followed by Umberto Scandola.
The second round of stages, the same held this morning, will start this afternoon at 13.46.
