Entry lists open for the 97th Targa Florio

Subscriptions to the 7th round of CIR organized by Automobile Club Palermo and Automobile Club Italy can be sent up to Monday 23 September. The one leg programme will take place on the last weekend of September. All info and official forms now available online.

Palermo, 27 August 2013 – The 97th Targa Florio is ready as Automobile Club Palermo and Automobile Club Italy devised the seventh round of the Italian Rally Championship, scheduled for next 27, 28 and 29 September.

Entry lists will be open until Monday September the 23rd, the race will be valid for the National Rally Trophy, 8 Zone Rally Challenge coefficient 2 and for the Sicilian Championship.

Organizers devised about a 30% reduction in entering fees for the Sicilian racers that will take part in the C.I.R. or in the National Rally Trophy.

The headquarter of edition 2013 of the most ancient race in the world will be set in Campofelice di Roccella with race direction, service center, press office, regrouping and Targa Florio Village; service park will take place in the heart of "Porte delle Madonie”, the town that housed the start and finish line of the first three editions of the race at the start of the past century. The prestigious and traditional starting ceremony will take place in the exclusive Politeama square of Palermo, while the challenge on the rally race will unfold in ten stages in one leg set for Sunday 29 September. The finish line will welcome all lineups in the town center of Campofelice di Roccella.

Edition 2013 of Targa Florio will get to its heart on Friday 27 September with reconnaissance to take place on normal road cars by entered teams that will have to fully respect the road code from 16.30 (GMT+2) to 21.00. The first session of sportive and technical verifications will take place at the Service Center located in Via Olanda from 8.30 to 12.30 on Saturday 28 September. The shakedown is also scheduled for the same morning as lineups will have the chance to test car setups on the Province Road 129 near Campofelice.

The racing cars will be lined up in Politeama Square in Palermo starting from 19.30 on Saturday 28 September. The exclusive starting ceremony will start at 21.00.

The race will completely take place on Sunday 29 September when lineups will leave Via Giovanni Falcone of Campofelice di Roccella at 7.30 and will be back there at 21.00 to celebrate the winners in Giuseppe Garibaldi Square.
