5 October 2013 – Good success for the 55th Rallye Sanremo, race valid as the last round of the Italian Championship and penultimate round of the European Championship that will take place next 10-12 October. As usual, the duel among Italian drivers and foreign champions will enliven the race. Several Italian drivers aim to the final victory.
Among these, Umberto Scandola with co-equiper Guido D'Amore, the lineup that obtained the Italian title quite early on. Umberto has never won in Sanremo and therefore he will be hunting his first win at the wheel of the Skoda Fabia S2000.

The new Italian Rally Champions will have to face, among the others, Paolo Andreucci and Anna Andreussi, who are hunting the third win in the classic race held in Liguria on their Peugeot 207 Super 2000. Giandomenico Basso- Mitia Dotta, winner of the last edition of the race will try to put in a good result after a few mistakes lately.
Alessandro Perico and Fabrizio Carrara on Peugeot 207 will also try to get a solid result. In the fight for the victory will certainly be Stefano Albertini, with Simone Scattolin at the notes, at his second season as frontrunner of the Italian Rally Championship. Italian drivers while fighting with each other will not have to forget the foreign drivers that will get to Ponente Ligure to harvest some heavy points for the European Championship and haul a win that would strenghen their 2013. The French driver Bryan Bouffier, 35 years old next December, has on his prize list a win in the Rallye of Montecarlo in 2011 and will try to put his hands on to the Sanremo.
It will be worth keeping an eye also on Craig Breen, 23 years since last February, who won the WRC Academy in 2011.
