Sebastian Chardonnet gets the stage of Collesano on Ford Fiesta R5

The Sicilian race organized by Automobile Club di Palermo in collaboration with 'Automobile Club d'Italia, fourth race of CIR and CIR Historic cars valid also for the National Rally Trophy 6th Zone (Sicily) with coefficient 2,5 started from Piazza Verdi in Palermo.

Palermo, 28 May 2015. The fourth round of the Italian Rally 2015 Championship has officially started. The Targa Florio, race organized by Automobile Club of Palermo in collaboration with Automobile Club d'Italia has started from the the Teatro Massimo of Palermo. The 82 crews, after the shakedown and starting ceremony, have been busy with the 1,35km long stage "Città di Collesano" . The quickest time was posted by the French Sebastien Chardonnet and his co-driver Thibault De la Haye on Ford Fiesta R5, who led Alessandro Perico on Peugeot 208 T16 by four tenths, while Paolo Andreucci was eight tenths short of the leaders on Ford Fiesta R5 ldi. The fourth time was set by Umberto Scandola and Guido D'Amore on Skoda Fabia S2000. In CIR Production, the quickest time was posted by Luca Rossetti who led Giacomo Scattolon on Renault Clio R3T. In the Italian Rally Junior, the fight for the win currently sees Alberto Rossi leading the pack on Peugeot 208 R2.

The 99th Targa Florio will continue tomorrow Friday 30 May with 9 stages valid for CIR and Italian Gravel Trophy. The three loops of the "Campofelice di Roccella" (14,40 km) will take place at local 9:31,12:15 and 16:31, the "Lascari" (9,20 km) will take place at 10.30, 14.24 and 17.19, while "Cefalų" (13,40 km) will be run at 11.06 , 15.00 and 17.55. Piazza Duomo of Cefalų will welcome the arrival of the crews. Service parks of 30 minutes will take place at the Targa Florio Village at 8.55, 13.30 (proceeded by a 30' regrouping, while the end of the race service park will be at 19.15 (for a length of 45').

The Sicilian race will also have an important media coverage. Not to be missed are the Live Streaming feeds by ACI Sport, that will include six appointments that have already started with the Spectacle Super Stage of Collesano. The other five live feeds will cover the rally from half stage on the two loops of Cefalù at 11.00 and 14.55, while on Saturday 30 May the streaming service will cover SS12 "Gratteri 2" from 10.20 to 10.50 and then the grand finale from the finish line of Campofelice di Roccella from 13.20 to 14.25 will allow fans to follow the end of the rally and prize ceremony live on acisportitalia.it. The highlights of the race will be shown by Rai Sport 2 tomorrow evening from 21.30.
