51st Rally of Friuli Venezia Giulia. A stellar race likely to decide the outcome of the Italian Rally 2015 Championship

Cividale del Friuli (UD) Wednesday 26 August 2015- A great race for a great Italian Championship that, never like in this season, has been proposing important technical and sporting themes. The 51st Rally of Friuli Venezia Giulia is getting close. Tomorrow, Thursday 27 August, the final tweaks and then the first challenge on Friday with the shake down scheduled in the morning on the classic Cialla-Prepotto from local 08:00 to12:00, while the race will kick off in the afternoon from 15:30 from Piazza Duomo in Cividale with five stages making up the first leg.

The entry list is quite extraordinary too, as 139 crews will make it to the track, among which five drivers that can battle the victory out. Great chances in the race organized by Scuderia Friuli ACU, for the Tuscan driver Paolo Andreucci, and Anna Andreussi, on the works Peugeot 208 T16, for Umberto Scandola and his new works Fabia R5 with Guido D'Amore at the notes, Giandomenico Basso, on the GPL powered Ford Fiesta run by BRC with Lorenzo Granai, Simone Campedelli, on the Peugeot 207 S2000 together with co-driver Danilo Fappani, and Alex Perico , Peugeot 208 T16 R5, together with Mauro Turati. These are the favourites to the final victory, but an eye will have t o be kept also on the races run by the "rookies” on R5 cars like Michele Tassone, on the second works Peugeot 208 T16 R5 as a prize for winning the junior 2015 championship, and like Fabrizio Andolfi Junior, at the first exit on Ford Fiesta R5. The two drivers are very quick and will have their chance to shine. The Swiss driver Stefano Baccega will also compete in the absolute championship on a Ford Fiesta R5. Another performance to be followed is that of Simone Tempestini, who is a protagonist of the Wrc3 world championship that will be on a Citroen Ds3 R3 in Friuli.
In the Italian Production Championship the whole-Renault battle will continue between Ferrarotti and Luca Rossetti, as the latter will try to get a good result on the home roads. Among the ladies, Corinne Federighi, Renault Twingo and while Giulia De Toni, Peugeot 208, had to give up at the last minute. The duel among the Suzuki Swift in the single branded trophy and in the ACI Sport R1 Trophy will be quite interesting too, as Gubertini, Vallino and Uliana are the favourites. In total, the race will be composed of 11 stages for 152,02 timed kms in a global itinerary of 397,20 km.

As usual, media coverage of the event by ACI Sport Service will be quite important. Rai will brodcast two specials with the highlights of the two legs: the first in the night between the 28th and 29th at 00.30 on Rai Sport 1. The second will be on Rai Sport 2 on Saturday 29 at 22.30.
