4th Rally Roma Capitale: Scandola-D'Amore, Skoda Fabia R5, win SS1 at Colosseo Quadrato

The race started this evening from Euroma2 with ss1 followed by thousands of spectators. Tomorrow’s stages in Subiaco and the second loop in Rome city center.

Rome, 23 September 2016 – The fourth edition of Rally Roma Capitale started this afternoon at Eur. The challenge kicked off at the “Euroma2” shopping center before continuing on the spectacular stage of the “Colosseo Quadrato” before the first stage Città di Roma “EUROMA2”.

This spectacle stage opened the rally near Rome with crews passing by in front of a crowd of fans. The best time was posted by Umberto Scandola and Guido D’Amore on Skoda Fabia R5. The second place is currently occupied by Simone Campedelli and Danilo Fappani at 1’’3 on the GPL Ford Fiesta R5. The third time was posted by Giandomenico Basso and Lorenzo Granai on Ford Fiesta R5 at 1’’9s.

The three Peugeot 208 T16 R5 driven by Alessandro Perico, Michele Tassone and Paolo Andreucci followed the top three.

Kevin Gilardoni had a great start leading Luca Panzani in the Clio R3T Trophy by six seconds. In Junior, Andrea Mazzocchi was the quickest leading Marco Pollara and Testa, all on Peugeot 208 R2.

In the women trophy, the quickest time was set by Corinne Federighi and Jasmine Manfredi on Renault Clio R3C. At the “Colosseo Quadrato” Stefano Martinelli went quickest in the Suzuki Rally Trophy, on the Swift R1, while Riccardo Canzian and Matteo Nobili have topped the R1 Trophy on the Twingo R1.

Day one fill continue tomorrow, Saturday September 24th, with nine stages located in Subiaco. The first challenging race day will be run on the stages Rocca di Cave “Tito Livio” (13,60 km) at 08:32, at 11:27 and 14:22, Bellegra “Vitellia"(5,70 km) at 9:10 at 12:05 and at 15:00. Rocca S.Stefano “Rocca d’Equi” (7,00 km) will be run twice, at 10.39 and 13:34. The final stage will see cars going again through the spectacle stage Città di Roma “Euroma2” (2,40 km) with the one-on-one formula at 17.39.
