Fiuggi (FR), Sunday, July 25th, 2021 – Giandomenico Basso and Lorenzo Granai, Skoda Fabia R5, are the winners of the Rally di Roma Capitale, the event that has been valid for the Sparco Italian Rally Championship and European Rally Championship organized by Motorsport Italia. The rally in Rome has highlighted the qualities of the best and most experienced drivers that eventually made the difference. The victory went to the three-times European Champion and two times Italian Champion Giandomenico Basso, who proceeded Andrea Crugnola and Pietro Ometto, Hyundai i20 R5, which were the only one to challenge him since the beginning. The duel was decided a few stages to the end when Crugnola got a puncture.

The Italian one-two on top confirmed the quality of our National school and championship with its protagonists that proved to be again the best on the European scene. After our two drivers, the first foreign crews were the Hungarian Norbert Herczig and Ramon Ferencz in the Skoda Fabia Rally2 Evo, and the Spanish Efren Llarena with Sara Fernandez in the Skoda Fabia Rally2 Evo. The fifth place went to the Poles Miko Marczyk and Szymon Gospodarczyk, also in the Skoda Fabia Rally2 Evo.
