La Conca, Muro Leccese, May 15th, 2024. The closing of registrations for the second round of the Italian ACI Karting Championship at the International Circuit La Conca still indicates a record turnout, with a total of 223 registered drivers in the MINI, KZ2, OK-N, and OK-N Junior categories. This is practically the same as the numbers recorded in the first round in Triscina, which had 224 verified drivers.
But another significant figure is also noteworthy; at La Conca, there are 91 drivers making their debut in the 2024 Tricolor Championship who were not present at Triscina, with many new additions that will surely spice up the races and boost the championship standings, thanks also to the incremental scoring system that distinguishes all rounds of the Tricolor Championship. Nonetheless, the race in Triscina still holds the record for attendance at a karting event in Sicily, with the island's resident drivers honouring the national event excellently in their region

The increasing scores.
In the second round at La Conca, the score for the first-place finisher in race-1 becomes 50 points instead of 40 as in Triscina, and likewise for the subsequent classified drivers, and 31 points for the first-place finisher in race-2, instead of 25. For the third round at Val Vibrata, the score for the first-place finisher increases to 60 points for race 1 and 38 for race 2, in the fourth round at Sarno 70 and 44, and in the fifth and final round at Lonato 80 and 50.

La Conca is valid as the qualifier for the World Cup OK-N 2024 FIA Karting.
For the drivers in the OK-N category, the events at La Conca, along with the previous round in Triscina and the two subsequent ones in Val Vibrata (June 23) and Sarno (July 21), are the qualifying events for the World Cup OK-N 2024 FIA Karting, which will take place within the framework of the OK and OKJ World Championship from September 12th to 15th in England at the PFI circuit in Brandon. The results obtained in the Italian ACI Karting Championship 2024 by the OK-N category drivers will indeed be crucial for the selection and participation in the World Cup event, alongside the best drivers from each nation.

The classification leaders after the first round
KZ2. Cristian Bertuca (#102 LG Motorsport/BirelART-TM Kart-Vega) is leading the KZ2 championship standings thanks to his double victory in race-1 and race-2 achieved in Triscina. MINI. The leader of the MINI Gr.3 category is the American Alessandro Truchot (#36 BabyRace/Parolin-Iame-MG), who achieved a victory in race 1 and second place in race 2 at Triscina. In the MINI Gr.3 Under 10 category, Niccolò Perico leads, also with a win in race 1 and a second place in race 2.
