This morning the first taste of the ACI Racing Weekend at Imola with Free Practice 1 of Campionato Italiano Sport Prototipi. The Wolf GB08 Thunder cars of the ACI Sport prototypes series tested on a dry track at 25°, weather conditions that could then change over the weekend, with rain forecast in particular for the next two days.

It was the classification leader, Giacomo Pollini, who set the best time with 1'47.193, followed by his main rival Davide Uboldi (+1.636). Third best time for the young Veneto driver Giovanni Maschio (+2.061), then Filippo Lazzaroni (+2.526). Very well also Francesco Gàristo and Gianluca Carboni, respectively 5th and 6th best time, with the second one that just on this occasion entered again the cockpit of the Wolf GB08 Thunder after a few years of absence and seems to have regained his hand easily right away. The 7th best lap of the session is signed by Master driver Joe Castellano, followed then by Giancarmine Spataro from Bari; then Alessio Salvaggio with Steve Brooks closing the top 10.

Matteo Pollini and Alex Beatovic did not take part in the first free practice session. The next opportunity to turn on the track to finalize the set-up work will be from 13:20 to 13:45, before the qualifying session, starting from 17:40 to 18:05. On Saturday, Sept. 3, the first race of the weekend will be at the start at 13:25 (25'+1 lap). Race 2, which will end the penultimate round of Campionato Italiano Sport Prototipi, will start instead on Sunday, September 4, at 12:10  (25'+ 1 lap).

Both races will be broadcast live on ACI Sport TV (Sky channel 228 and www.acisport.it) and on the Facebook and Youtube pages of the Italian Sport Prototypes Championship (@cisprototipi)
