Emil and Linus Hellberg confirmed their presence in the Italian Sport Prototypes Championship, after their absolute debut in car racing occurred precisely in Pergusa last year. A debut, that of the 2022 season, which had been more than convincing, leading the two brothers to actively compete with the big names in the Championship. Both managed to conclude very positively their first year on Wolf GB08 Thunder in the ACI Sport series, finishing in the top 10 in the standings, with Emil Hellberg setting himself seventh overall and Linus Hellberg tenth. Also extremely positive was the output in the class standings dedicated to Rookies, in which Emil came close to the title of Rookie Champion only by a handful of points.

Several times during the season the Swedish driver duo managed to put themselves in the spotlight by showing exciting highlights on the track. The best result of the season came for Linus Hellberg in the second race at Mugello, in which he skilfully hit a beautiful third place that allowed him to celebrate on the overall podium, while also getting his first win in his own class. His brother Emil, on the other hand, was very close to setting foot on the overall podium, achieving fourth place twice (Vallelunga and Mugello), however, coming no less than five times to celebrate with champagne on the highest step of the Rookie podium.

The Swedish driver duo, facing the difficulties of those struggling with new cars and tracks all to be discovered, presented themselves last year as an unknown in the Italian Sport Prototypes Championship, but quickly managed to become a certainty.

For 2023 there are high expectations for the Swedish boys of Ascari Accademy, who followed splendidly by their coach Lars Dandanell and head technician Gael Carvajal have been grinding out many kilometers at Ascari Race Resort, setting faster and faster times, with Emil setting the record for Sport Light cars with his 1.56.6.

So all eyes are on the Hellberg brothers ready to line up on the starting grid as early as the first round of the 2023 Italian Sport Prototypes Championship at the Autodromo Enzo and Dino Ferrari in Imola over the weekend of April 23, with a year of experience behind them, making them even more competitive and ready to obtain great success on the track.
