Emil Hellberg wins race-2 in Imola for the opening round of Campionato Italiano Sport Prototipi. A great show for the Swede, who took the win at the end of an eventful race. In Imola Emil won starting the race in third place, getting focused in the second part of the race. The 2023 rookie runner-up is the thirstiest different winner in the CISP, since when Wolf Racing Cars became technical partner of the series promoted by ACI Sport.

Davide Uboldi took the second place. The multiple champion had a great start, but after few minutes he’s been overtaken by Alister Yoong. The Malaysian driver, son of former-f1 driver Alex Yoong, lost his engine cover due to a heavy excursion, loosing the contact with the front drivers. On the podium finished 2022 Under 25 Champion, Matteo Roccadelli. A bit of reward for the pole-man of the weekend, after a retirement for technical reasons in race-1

In the first stage of the race a contact between Pietro Ferri, on pole due to reverse grid, and race-1 winner Danny Molinaro forced the 2021 Champion to retire. Also Ferri, born in 2001, had to retire due to a fire principle on his Wolf GB08 Thunder. Jesse Menczer maximized his potential finishing fourth, ahead of Michele Fattorini, promoted after Yoong received a 5 seconds penalty for disrespecting starting procedure.

Manuel Deodati, from Emotion Motorsport, crossed finish line 7th, ahead of Sefano Attianese and Donald Milokanovic. All those three drivers confirmed themselves in points positions after race-1. Top-10 for Giovanni Mazza, who’s reneging champion in the rookies, while Linus Hellberg, brother of the winner Emil, had to retire as for Molinaro and Ferri.

Leaving Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari in Imola with Davide Uboldi as new and first 2023 championship leader, the Campionato Italiano Sport Prototipi bring its next stage in Sicily, at Autodromo di Pergusa who will host second seasonal round on 21st May.
