Alister Yoong led the pack in FP2 at the Pergusa circuit: in a session that saw a lot of rain and wind, which highly influenced the drivers’ performance, the Malaysian took advantage of the improving weather during the last few minutes to top the timing sheets with a lap of 1:57.545. Son of former Formula 1 driver Alex Yoong, Alister ended the session ahead of BHK Motorsport driver Matteo Roccadelli, the fastest when the track was still fully wet. Third was the American Jesse Menczer, at ease on the Sicilian circuit after the top-5 finish in yesterday’s session. Vignash Kadarabad finished fourth, ahead of Imola race 2 winner Emil Hellberg, one of the fastest on Friday.

The second round of the Campionato Italiano Sport Prototipi sees three new cars ready to hit the track. The best out of the three debutants was the Columbian David Acosta Molina, eight at the end of the session; Sergio Farris, at his track racing debut after a few years in uphill racing, was tenth. On the other hand Angelo Zammataro was unable to close a valid lap, just like two of the most anticipated drivers: Davide Uboldi, currently championship leader, and Danny Molinaro, winner in 2021.

Pergusa will see one more free practice session of 25 minutes at 12:40 AM, while the Qualifying round will start at 04:00 PM. Tomorrow morning will be race day, with the two races streamed live on ACI Sport TV, channel 228 on Sky, respectively at 09:00 AM and 03:00 PM.
