Davide Uboldi dominated the first race of the Campionato Italiano Sport Prototipi at the Pergusa Autodrome which was very challenging as the track was wet and tricky. After the qualifying round Uboldi received a penalty of two positions as he overtook a car despite the red flag out; after the start, behind the Safety car, the driver from Como immediately claimed the lead of the race, overtaking both BHK Motorsport entries Vignash Kadarabad and Matteo Roccadelli. From that moment on Uboldi dominated the race despite the Safety car caused by Alister Yoong spinning in the last 10 minutes of the race. The race ended two minutes earlier with the red flag out as the marshalls had to recover Pietro Ferri’s car, giving Uboldi the first win of the season.

After the pole position earned as Uboldi was penalized, Matteo Roccadelli crossed the racing line second but was later penalized for a starting procedure infringement and got demoted to the third step of the podium. His teammate Vignash Kadarabad earned the second position, his best finish of the season so far - together with leading the Under 25 standings. Fourth was Danny Molinaro, also penalized on the grid for causing a crash with Pietro Ferri in Imola’s second race; he then started seventh and climbed up the grid to finish right under the podium. Fifth was Emil Hellberg, Imola race 2 winner, able to make any mistakes during the race.

Great sixth place for David Acosta Molina at his debut, who was able to bring many points at home after a pretty challenging race; after him ended the Anglo-American Jesse Menczer, who was unable to replicate the others’ pace. Eighth was Sergio Farris, while Giovanni Mazza and Donald Milokanovic closed the Top 10.

The Campionato Italiano Sport Prototipi will see its last race of the Pergusa weekend at 03:00 PM. The race will be streamed on ACI Sport TV, channel 228 on Sky.
