The Campionato Italiano Sport Prototipi is ready to rev its engines again for the third round of the season after the previous ones in Imola and Pergusa. It will be the temple of speed, the Autodromo Nazionale Monza, to host the series promoted by ACI Sport with the technical support of Wolf Racing Cars after a one month break. The fifth ACI Racing Weekend sees the CISP championship standings almost opposite compared to how they were in Pergusa. After finishing the technical inspections on Davide Uboldi’s car at the end of the Sicilian round, the race direction disqualified the driver from Como from the race weekend. The Wolf GB08 Thunder had been found to have non-compliant engine seals and, after a subsequent check by the manufacturer and the technical commissioner, it was confirmed that those seals had been tampered with.

Hemil Hellberg is now the new championship leader, with 51 points in the bag after the two reversed grid victories, both in Emilia-Romagna and in Sicily. Matteo Roccadelli is right behind him, chasing the lead with 46 points and being the only poleman of the Campionato Italiano Sport Prototipi so far. Only two points behind is Danny Molinaro, the 2021 Champion, back on track after a one-year-break and determined to win again.

Jesse Menczer arrives in Brianza fourth in the standings with 35 points, with Vignash Kadarabad fifth thanks to the 28 points collected in Pergusa. After a pretty unlucky round in Imola, the Indian driver, racing with BHK Motorsport, jumped on the podium for the first time during the first race of the Sicilian weekend. The Indian is also leading the Under 25 standings where he currently has 56 points, one more than his teammate Matteo Roccadelli.

Uboldi drops to the sixth overall position, also thanks to the deduction of 10 points as stipulated in the Article 24 of the Sporting Regulations. Michele Fattorini is chasing him (21 to 16), with the couple of the Emotion Motorsport team behind, as David Acosta Molina and Pietro Ferri are just a few points down. The latter, with 10 points total, is tied with Sergio Farris and Manuel Deodati.

Stefano Attianese, thanks to the 62 points collected so far, is the leader of the Master Trophy, while Donald Milokanovic leads the Rookie standings with 70 points. Between the 17 drivers in the entry list there is some news: Linus Hellberg comes back on track and will try to lend some support to his brother Emil, championship leader, while Sonia Roussel switches teams and will defend Bad Wolves’ colors this weekend. The Indian representation doubles with Chetan Surineni joining his compatriot Kadarabad.

The schedule of the Campionato Italiano Sport Prototipi sees two 25 minutes free practice sessions on Friday, June 23, at 9:20 AM and at 1:05 PM. Later in the day, at 5:35 PM, the qualifying round will start and the drivers will be busy doing their fastest laps to set the grid for the two races: the first one will be on Saturday, June 24, at 2:15 PM, while the second one will start at 11:00 AM on Sunday, June 25. Both races will be streamed live on ACI Sport TV, channel 228 on Sky, and on the CISP social media pages (Facebook and YouTube).
