Matteo Roccadelli (BHK Motorsport) finished the first Campionato Italiano Sport Prototipi’s free practice round in first position at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza. During the first session back from the summer break, the driver from Vercelli hit the top of the timing sheets with a lap of 2:10.188; the action on track began with wet conditions but ended with the sun, as the asphalt reached the temperature of 20°C. The BHK Motorsport driver, currently championship leader, took the standings’ leadership during the first few laps and maintained it up until the end. Emil Hellberg (Bad Wolves) was able to get closer only during the last few minutes left, and ended the session second, five tenths slower than his rival. Third was Alister Yoong (Luxury Car Racing), the other driver who wasn’t more than one second slower than Roccadelli.

Fourth was Linus Hellberg (Bad Wolves), who beat Pietro Ferri’s (Emotion Motorsport) lap during the last lap available. Sixth was Jesse Menczer (Bad Wolves), two times podium finisher and hunting for his first victory, while Giovanni Mazza (Emotion Motorsport) finished seventh. Rookie championship leader, Donald Milokanovic (Bad Wolves) was eight.

As rain characterized the first free practice session some drivers didn’t manage to finish their laps: one amongst them is Davide Ubaldi (Ubaldi Corse), who didn’t hit the track waiting for it to get better. The same choice was made by Sonia Roussel (Bad Wolves) and the two Emotion Motorsport drivers David Acosta Molina and Stefano Attianese.

The weekend will see more action today at 12:35 for the second free practice session and at 17:50 for the qualifying round. The two races, both streamed on ACI SPORT TV (Sky Channel 228) and on Facebook and Youtube, will go live respectively at 13:50 on Saturday, September 16, and at 9:30 on Sunday, September 17. Admission to the paddock and grandstands is free for the whole ACI Sport Weekend.
