Emil Hellberg closed the first free practice session at the Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello in first place: the Swedish driver definitely started the fifth round of the 2023 Campionato Italiano Sport Prototipi season on the right foot with a lap time of 1:47.678. The time available to the drivers was less than scheduled as the red flag was waved right at the start, but the Bad Wolves driver was able to find his feeling with the track and topped the timing sheet during the last few rounds. Davide Uboldi, the winner of race-2 in Monza, was just 694 thousands behind. Third was Alister Yoong, 152 behind the driver from Como after leading the pack for the first few phases.

Fourth was Linus Hellberg, while Jesse Menczer finished right behind him in fifth place; sixth was Pietro Ferri (Emotion Motorsport), who finished only 16 thousands behind the top-5. It was a difficult start for Matteo Roccadelli (BHK Motorsport) on the other hand: the championship leader, who will be penalized with eight positions in the first race of the weekend as he failed to follow the race direction’s instructions in Monza, had to settle for a seventh place after finishing only one lap. Eighth was Donald Milokanovic, while Giovanni Mazza (Emotion Motorsport) finished ninth without a valid lap.

The intense schedule of Friday will see a second free practice session at 12:40, with the qualifying round set to go live at 16:55. The two races will go underway on Saturday, September 30, at 14:40 and on Sunday, October 1st, at 9:00. Both will be streamed live on the YouTube and Facebook channels of the Campionato Italiano Sport Prototipi. Race-1 will be broadcast with a slight delay on ACI Sport TV, channel 228 on Sky, while race-2 will be live.
