Emil Hellberg, reigning champion of the Italian Sports Prototype Championship, will once again be one of the stars of the 2024 season which will begin on 3-5 May at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli. The Swede, born in 1976, a successful entrepreneur in sports clothing - he is the owner of Ridestore - is in his third season in the Italian series.

The objective, at the wheel of the new Wolf GB08 Raiden (the chassis homologation procedure was completed last Thursday), is to defend the title won by coming from behind in the last weekend of the season where he took both victories at the Autodromo Piero Taruffi of Vallelunga in Campagnano (Rome).

Two fourth places and a good consistency of performance had allowed Emil to finish the 2022 season of the Italian Sports Prototype Championship in seventh place overall; the Swede had also fought for the ACI Sport Rookie Cup, finishing in second place behind Giovanni Mazza by just nine points. In 2023, Hellberg took four victories, one pole position and three fastest laps.
