Spa-Francorchamps, the first contact with the Belgian track in Free Practice 1

With free practice 1 the weekend of the Italian F.4 Championship officially kicked off at Spa-Francorchamps, the iconic Belgian track in the Ardennes, a tricky track capable of challenging even the highest level drivers. On track the best time goes to Andrea Kimi Antonelli, Prema Racing, who obtains the fastest lap with 2'22.792, followed by three teammates: James Wharton (+0.210), Rafael Camara (+0.290) and Charlie Wurz (+0.472). 

The fifth best time in today's first session went to Nikita Bedrin, PHM Racing, with a gap of 0.558. Then, sixth, the Polish driver of the US Racing team, Kacper Sztuka (+0.613). US Racing's Irish driver Alexander Dunne, with the seventh best lap, and the Englishman Taylor Barnard (PHM Racing) following him, are the last two drivers to stay within a second of the gap with +0.882 and +0.903 respectively. Ninth is Prema's Dane, Conrad Laursen, followed by US Racing's French-Finnish driver Marcus Amand. Eleventh is the Portuguese of Iron Lynx, Ivan Domingues, followed by Alfio Spina (BWR Motorsport). 13th best lap to Ukrainian driver Oleksander Partyshev, Jenzer Motorsport, who returned to the track after the back pain that had stopped him at Misano. Completing the top 15 is a Van Amersfoort Racing duo, with American Arias Deukmedjan and Norwegian Martinius Stenshorne

Problems for Ismhail Akhmed, AKM Motorsport, who stopped after a few minutes, causing the red flag that interrupted the session.

Back in session this evening at 17.10 with the second free practice, qualifying sessions are scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday 18 June, starting from 9.50. Also on Saturday, Race 1 ready to go at 14.00. Race 2 on Sunday 19 at 9.40, while the last race of the weekend will start at 17.25.

The three races will be broadcast live on ACI Sport TV and in live streaming on the Facebook and Youtube channels of the Italian F.4 Championship.
