Kacper Sztuka continues to dominate in the free practice sessions at Mugello Circuit

Sztuka remains the fastest and improves on his lap time from the morning, as we approach the first Euro 4 Championship’s qualifying session of the season

In the second free practice session at Mugello Circuit, Kacper Sztuka from US Racing continues to dominate, further improving his lap time from this morning. The Polish driver set the fastest time of the day at 1'48.650. Following closely in the second session is Londoner driver Arvid Lindblad, junior Red Bull driver from PREMA Racing, with a gap of 0.253. Taking the third fastest lap time on the track is Ugo Ugochukwu, Prema Racing McLaren junior driver, trailing by 0.322. Still closely matched, the two Ferrari Driver Academy drivers from Prema Racing, Tuukka Taponen and James Wharton. Tuukka Taponen matched Ugochukwu's exact lap time, while James Wharton trailed Sztuka by 0.489. Occupying the sixth and seventh positions on the track were a duo of drivers from US Racing, Akshay Bohra with a gap of 0.520 and Zachary David also at 0.520. Eighth on the track was local driver Nicola Lacorte, who set his best lap time at 0.755 on his home circuit. Following him was Riuqi Liu from US Racing, with a gap of 0.806 from Sztuka. Wrapping up the top 10 in the second and final free practice session was Australian driver Gianmarco Pradel from US Racing, recording a gap of 0.810.

With this final session, the opportunities to familiarize themselves with the Mugello Circuit and work on the weekend's setup come to an end, as the next step will be the qualifying sessions. The first 15-minute session, starting at 18:50, will determine the grid for Race 1. This will be followed by another 15-minute battle against the clock, starting at 19:05 after a short pit-lane break, to set the grid for Race 2. The starting order for the final race of the weekend will be determined by the second-best time achieved by the drivers across the two sessions.

 

The races will kick off tomorrow, with Race 1 scheduled to start on Saturday, July 8th at 14:50 for 30 minutes + 1 lap. On Sunday, July 10th, the action resumes at 11:20 (30' + 1 lap), followed by the conclusion of the first round of the Euro 4 Championship at 18:15 (30' + 1 lap).

The three races of the weekend will be broadcasted live with English commentary on the YouTube and Facebook pages of the Italian F.4 Championship | Euro 4 Championship, while they will be aired with Italian commentary on ACI Sport TV (Sky channel 228), on www.acisport.it, and on the Facebook page @acisporttv. They will also be broadcasted in both Italian and English on Motorsport TV (https://motorsport.tv/).
