Akshay Bohra opens the ACI Racing Weekend at Misano with the fastest time in Free Practice 1

The Italian F.4 Championship is the first category on track on Friday at the Misano World Circuit

After the collective tests, this morning the Italian F.4 Championship returned to the track to officially start the first round of the season, opening the action for the Misano ACI Racing Weekend. The first free practice session of the day saw Askhay Bohra, American driver of US Racing, set the fastest lap with 1’34.502. Among the main protagonists of last season, Bohra returned to the track this year immediately determined to bring results to the Team led by Gerhard Ungar and Ralf Schumacher. The second fastest time this morning went to Mercedes junior driver of Prema Racing, Alex Powell. The American had already had a taste of the Italian F.4 in 2023, and this year he returns to the track ready for his Rookie season, setting a gap of 0.252 this morning. Third place went to Gustav Jonsson, Swedish driver of Van Amersfoort Racing, who set a gap of 0.329 this morning. British driver of Prema Racing, Freddie Slater, finished in fourth place, with a gap of 0.339, followed by the Alpine Academy driver of US Racing, Matheus Ferreira. The gap for the Brazilian was 0.385, making it the fifth fastest lap of the morning. Following him was his Australian teammate, Jack Beeton, with a 0.436. Swiss driver of Jenzer Motorsport, Ethan Ischer, finished the session seventh with 0.443, followed by Emirati driver Rashid Al Dhaheri, representing Prema Racing, with a gap of 0.551. Ninth place went to Reno Fracont, Dutch driver of Jenzer Motorsport with a gap of 0.553, with Japanese driver of Prema Racing, Kean Nakamura Berta, rounding out the top 10 with a gap of 0.554.

 

Today, Friday, May 3rd, another free practice session starting from 11:55 to 12:35. Free practices will be followed by official qualifying sessions, determining the grid for the weekend's three races. The first qualifying session will run from 16:50 to 17:05, with the second session following from 17:40 to 17:55. These sessions will determine the grids for Race 1 and Race 2 respectively. The grid for the final race of the weekend will be decided by the second-best time in the combined classification of the two sessions. Saturday, May 4th, will see two of the weekend's three races. It begins with Race 1 at 11:30, while Race 2 will take place in the evening, starting at 17:45. Race 3 will then start on Sunday, May 5th, at 11:00. All weekend races will run for 30 minutes plus one lap and will be broadcast live with Italian commentary on ACI Sport TV, channel 228 on Sky and channel 52 Tivù Sat, as well as streamed on www.acisport.it, the ACI Sport TV Facebook page, and other channels. The Misano races will also be available with English commentary on the Italian F.4 Championship's Facebook and YouTube pages, as well as on the wide international television network of the Championship, including traditional broadcasters and IPTV.
