Freddie Slater sets the fastest lap in the second free practice session

The fastest time of the free practices comes in the second session and bears the mark of the "British sensation" from Prema Racing

Activities continue at the Misano World Circuit for the first ACI Racing Weekend of the 2024 season. The second free practice session of the Italian F.4 Championship took to the track this morning, crowning Freddie Slater, the British driver from Prema Racing, as the fastest driver on the track. The best lap was 1’34.490. He was followed by just 25 hundredths of a second by the driver who had been the fastest on the track in the first session, Akshay Bohra of US Racing, confirming that he is perfectly ready for the first round of the season. The third fastest time went to Alex Powell, the American from Prema Racing with Mercedes junior insignia, who closed with a gap of 0.186. Also the foruth place went to a Prema driver, the Latvian Tomass Stolcermanis, with 0.361. The fifth fastest lap was set by the Japanese driver Hiyu Yamakoshi, from Van Amersfoort Racing, who has shown great speed on the track up to this point. Sixth was the Australian from US Racing, Gianmarco Pradel, with a gap from the leader of 0.501; following closely in the second free practice session was Rashid Al Dhaheri, representing Prema Racing, with a gap of 0.507. Eighth was the Japanese driver Kean Nakamura Berta, again for Prema, at 0.513. Matheus Ferreira, from the Alpine Academy of US Racing, finished ninth with a gap of 0.534, while closing out the top 10 was the Italian driver from PHM AIX Racing, Davide Larini, with 0.566. 

Now, the wait for qualifying begins. The first session will start this evening, Friday, May 3rd, from 16:50 to 17:05, while the second session will follow from 17:40 to 17:55.

These sessions will determine the grids for Race 1 and Race 2 respectively. The grid for the final race of the weekend will be decided by the second-best time in the combined classification of the two sessions. Saturday, May 4th, will see two of the weekend's three races. It begins with Race 1 at 11:30, while Race 2 will take place in the evening, starting at 17:45. Race 3 will then start on Sunday, May 5th, at 11:00. All weekend races will run for 30 minutes plus one lap and will be broadcast live with Italian commentary on ACI Sport TV, channel 228 on Sky and channel 52 Tivù Sat, as well as streamed on www.acisport.it, the ACI Sport TV Facebook page, and other channels. The Misano races will also be available with English commentary on the Italian F.4 Championship's Facebook and YouTube pages, as well as on the wide international television network of the Championship, including traditional broadcasters and IPTV.
