On the Thursday preceding the ACI Racing Weekend at Vallelunga’s circuit named after Piero Taruffi, the track was dedicated to the Pirelli tyres mounting Tatuus cars of the Italian F.4 Championship certified by FIA. The protagonists of the 3rd round of the season had a long session of collective tests, 4 continuous hours, for familiarization with the track and work on the weekend setup.

At the end of the session, the fastest time was set by US Racing’s American-Indian driver Akshay Bohra, who stopped the clock at 1'33.984 on the 4085-meter track in Campagnano di Roma. Second in the test was the current Championship leader, Brit Freddie Slater, representing Prema Racing, with an extremely narrow gap of 0.021 seconds. Also within a tenth of a second gap from Bohra was his US Racing teammate, Australian Gianmarco Pradel, at 0.081 seconds; within the tenth as well was Jenzer Motorsport’s Swiss driver Enea Frey at 0.094 seconds, and Prema Racing’s Japanese Alpine Academy driver Kean Nakamura Berta at 0.095 seconds.

In sixth place was Mercedes’ young talent Alex Powell, representing Prema Racing, with a gap of 0.119 seconds, closely followed by Jenzer Motorsport’s Dutch driver Reno Francot at 0.121 seconds. Swedish Van Amersfoort Racing’s Gustav Jonsson took eighth just at the checkered flag, with a gap of 0.199 seconds, followed by Australian Jack Beeton of US Racing, with a gap of 0.263 seconds. Closing the top 10 was Prema Racing’s Emirati driver Rashid Al Dhaheri, with a margin of 0.268 seconds from the leader.

Following the collective tests, there will be two more opportunities to test on track tomorrow, Friday, June 14, when the drivers will return to the track in two 40-minute free practice sessions starting at 10:15 and 15:35. Saturday, June 15, will feature the qualifying sessions, in two phases from 9:35 to 9:50, then again from 10:00 to 10:15. Race-1 will then take place on Saturday evening, with 30 minutes + 1 lap starting at 15:45. Sunday, June 16, will host the remaining two races of the weekend: Race-2 (30 minutes + 1 lap) starting at 9:00, and Race-3 (30 minutes + 1 lap) set to start at 14:25.

The 3 races of the weekend will be broadcast live on the Italian F.4 Championship’s YouTube and Facebook channels, on ACI Sport TV (channel 228 of Sky, channel 52 Tivù Sat, and streaming on www.acisport.it), as well as the extensive network of international televisions that broadcast the Italian F4 Championship 2024 races, including the DAZN platform.
