The trio of drivers from the team led by Marco Antonelli is gearing up for the final challenge
(AKM Motorsport press office release)
The final stop of the Italian F4 Championship is set for this weekend in Monza for the seventh and final round of the season. Three weeks after their participation in the Euro 4 series, the AKM Motorsport team returns to the Brianzan circuit at full strength.
Almost everything remains unchanged for the team led by Marco Antonelli, who will tackle the 5.7 kilometers of the Lombard track with the Italian duo Emanuele Olivieri and Mattia Marchiante, and now adding the Ukrainian Oleksandr Savinkov to the lineup.
It was precisely at Monza earlier this month where Olivieri stood out during the final round of the continental mini-series. The 16-year-old from Asti started Race 3 from the tenth row and climbed to ninth overall and fifth among the rookies. This result follows his sixth-place finish last July at the French track of Paul Ricard.
A few weeks ago at Monza, Marchiante also made his second appearance in the category, finishing all three races just as he did during his debut at Mugello at the end of August.
For Savinkov, this will mark a return after being forced to miss the Brianzan round of the Euro 4.
The Monza weekend will heat up tomorrow, Friday, October 25, with two free practice sessions followed by qualifying at 16:40. The first of the three 30-minute-plus-one-lap races is scheduled for Saturday at 9:25, while Race 2 will take place at 14:20. The third and final race of the season will start on Sunday at 10:25.
All the races will be streamed live on the Italian F4 Championship's Facebook and YouTube channels, as well as broadcast live on ACI Sport TV, available on Sky channel 228.
