The second round of the Italian ACI Karting Championship held at the International Circuit Napoli of Sarno produced again an excellent spectacle with 201 drivers on track in the categories KZ2, OK Junior, ACI Kart, ACI Kart Junior and 60 Mini, with the addition of 125 Club for the first round of its championship.

The most powerful category, KZ2, had 54 drivers at the start and the home hero Francesco Celenta of il team Formula K claimed a spectacular hat trick in the two finals after dominating throughout the weekend. This result allowed him to pull away in the championship after the good haul of the first round of Castelletto, where he secured the first round of the season. Mirko Torsellini (Exprit-Tm) also put in a strong weekend and was second twice in the two finals as main rival of Celenta. Celenta move on Torsellini in the second final has been decisive and spectacular during the second final towards the end of the race, that was perhaps favoured by the not perfect setup of Torsellini's kart following a contact with the early leader Federico Pezzolla (EKS-TK-Tm). The third step of the podium in race-2 was obtained by Ciro Mollo (Jesolo-Tm) who ended on a high his weekend, proceeding Lorenzo Lapina (Italcorse-Modena) thanks to a successful move completed with a couple of corners to go. Marco Pastacaldi (Tony Kart-Tm) obtained a great fifth place in Race-2.

In KZ2, the third step of the podium of Race-1 was obtained by a great Matteo Viganò on Top Kart-Parilla, who proceeded Tommaso Mosca (Maranello-Tm), Alessandro Giulietti (TB Kart-Tm), Lorenzo Lapina (Italcorse-Modena), Marco Zanchetta (Maranello-Tm) and Federico Pezzolla. In race-2, Zanchetta had the worse of a contact involving also Torsellini and Pezzolla. At that point he was third but ended the race there. Italian 2015 Champion Riccardo Longhi also experienced a very difficult weekend on CRG-Tm, as he had to retire from Race-1 at lap one and slipped down to the back in Race-2.

Francesco Pagano (Tony Kart-Tm) won OK Junior's race one, dominating the first final proceeding the Indonesian Perdana Minang (Tony Kart-Vortex) and Marzio Moretti (Exprit-Tm), as Alessandro Giardelli (Tony Kart-Tm) and Nicolò Genisi (Formula K-Tm) closed respectively in fourth and fifth place. Giuseppe Fusco (Lenzokart-Lke) has been the dominator of race-2 and put in a great comeback from the last place due to the failure of the chain in Race-1. Fusco countercharged taking a good win in an International podium made by the Australian Hughes Lachlan (Lenzokart-Lke) in second place and by the Indonesian Minang in third place. Genisi was fourth leading Edoardo Morricone (Tony Kart-Vortex).

In 60 Mini, with 76 drivers at the start, Gabriele Minì (Energy-Tm) won Race-1, leading Federico Cecchi on CRG run by team Morsicani and Luigi Coluccio on Tony Kart-Vortex. Minì repeated himself in Race-2 recovering all the positions lost due to the top 8 inversion, but had an irregular contact and at the end of the race he was handed a 5s time penalty that relegated him to P7. Race-2 victory was therefore inherited by the other CRG driver of team Gamoto: the Spanish Jose Gomez, as Cecchi was second again. The third place went to Leonardo Caglioni (Energy-Iame) who proceeded his team mate Ugo Ugochukwu. Coluccio was fifth.

In ACI Kart with Iame engine, Race-1 victory went to Andrea Comanducci (Tony Kart) who led the dominator of the first race of Castelletto, Alessandro Di Cori. Simone Favaro was third in Race-1, all on Tony Kart. Di Cori managed to get back to the victory in Race-2 instead, leading Favaro, while Comanducci had to settle for P3 this time around.

In ACI Kart Junior, with Iame engines, the series open to eleven years old drivers, the Polish Aleksander Bardas (DR) managed to take a double win. He proceeded Bruno Perilli (EKS-TK) and Alessandro Fronzilli (Top Kart) in race-1, while he led Luca Graziani (Alonso) and Fronzilli in race 2.

In 125 Club, class with 36 drivers filling up the grid, Franceso Atzori – winner of the Italian Cup 2015 – obtained the victory in race-1 on CRG-Tm. The second place went to Vincenzo Di Costanzo (KGM-Tm) and the third to Angelo Ferraro (BirelArt-Tm). The fourth and fifth position were obtained by Mauro Moretti (Tony Kart-Tm) and Luigi Caso (RK-Tm). Tommaso Polidoro (EKS-TK-Tm) managed to turn bad luck around in race-2. After the pole position, he was eighth n Race-1 and got the most of the pole position start in race-2 due to the top 8 grid inversion and won final 2. Atzori and Di Costanzo joined him on the podium respectively in second and third place.

The next round of the championship will take place at the Adria Karting Raceway next July 10th with categories KZ2, 60 Mini, OK Junior, ACI Kart, ACI Kart Junior, 125 Club, Prodriver Under and Prodriver Over on track.
