An Italian triumph has characterized the spectacular CIK-FIA KZ World Championship held at the Circuit Asum Ring of Kristianstad (Sweden). The victory went to Paolo De Conto, the 24 yrs old driver of Valdobbiadene (Treviso) on CRG chassis (Lonato del Garda, Brescia) and TM engine (Pesaro). Paolo De Conto enriched his prize list in karting with the most prestigious result in the shifter category, after winning the KZ1 European Championship in 2011 and the KZ2 European Championship in 2010. In Kristianstad, De Conto proceeded at the flag the French Antony Abbasse (Sodi-Tm) and another Italian, Marco Ardigò (Tony Kart-Vortex).
The Italian success in Sweden has been rounded off by the extraordinary result in the CIK-FIA KZ2 International Super Cup, where three drivers on CRG chassis, with three different all-Italian engines, completed the podium. The CIK-FIA title in KZ2 went to the Spanish driver Pedro Hiltbrand on Maxter engine (Lonato del Garda, Brescia). He was followed by the recent European KZ2 Champion, the Italian Fabian Federer on Modena engine (Villavara di Bomporto, Modena), while the third step of the podium was obtained by the Swedish driver Benjamin Tornqvist on TM engine (Pesaro).
