Another record number of drivers is enriching the presence at the Italian ACI Karting Championship this year. The second round of the Italian championship at the International circuit Napoli of Sarno will have 270 drivers at the start, which is a new record for this initial part of the season, thanks also to the new shifter category KZ3 that replaced KZ4 compared to the first round of Lonato, where 258 drivers made it onto the track.

In Sarno, alongside the 80 drivers all set for the opener of KZ3, in the classes Junior, Under and Over, the other categories of the Italian Championship will count some 190 further drivers on track in KZ2, 60 Mini, OK-Junior and in the two single make categories powered by Iame engines ACI Kart and ACI Kart Junior. These are really important figures in the two first rounds of the season confirm the great start to the 2017 campaign.

More in detail, in Sarno 43 drivers will contest KZ2, 80 Mini, 10 OK-Junior, 34 ACI Kart, 21 ACI Kart Junior, 22 KZ3 Junior, 38 KZ3 Under and 21 KZ3 Over.

On track, the first day of the racing weekend has been devoted to qualifying and to a first series of heats. Some further heats will follow on Saturday May 27th, while second change races and two finals for each category will take place on Sunday May 28th. The weekend will also feature the support race of the very young drivers of Entry Level.
