27/07/2011 – The autodrome of Mugello is getting busier in sight of the 5th round of the Italian GT Championship scheduled for this weekend.

The demanding circuit near Firenze will witness yet another challenge among the powerful cars involved in the Italian GT that will see the comeback of Ferrari in the GT2 class.

Aside the Porsche RSR of Coggiola brothers, Luciano Linossi "Linos" in crew with her daughter Francesca will be at the wheel of the F 430 lined up by Edil Cris in the highest class, while in GT3 the duel between the Audi R8 LMS of the leaders Bonanomi-Sonvico, that of the team mates Capello-Cicognani, the Porsche GT3R of Autorlando driven by Cordoni-Camathias and the Corvette driven by Merendino-Di Benedetto (Island Motorsport/Sikelia) will get lively again, with the latter couple coming from the victory in Imola's race one.

In the GT Cup, where some corrections have been done to improve the balance of performance between different cars, the F430 Ferrari driven by Malucelli-Pierleoni (Scuderia 27 Baldini Mode) will have to watch out for the attacks of the Lamborghini Gallardo of Piccini-Livio (Mik Corse) and Sanna-Stancheris (Team Imperiale), that obtained the victories in Imola and of the whole lot of Porsche 997 led by Passuti-Gagliardini (Best Lap-Antonelli Motorsport). Cerati-Galassi changed their colors as they moved from Scuderia La.Na to Vittoria Competizioni, but will still be driving a F 430; similarly, Simone Iaquinta left the Porsche belonging to Petri Corse Motorsport to the Gallardo of Mik Corse in crew with Alex De Giacomi.

In GT4, the Ginetta G 50 will have to fight against the Porsche Cayman driven by the winners of race one in Imola, Donativi-Brambati (Best Lap-Antonelli Motorsport). The crew Malavasi-Bettini will strengthen the line up of Nova Race while the classification leader Tiziano Cappelletti, will share the drive of the small British coupe with Pierre Piron.

The programme of the Tuscan weekend schedules qualifying for Saturday (at 15,40 and 18,10 local time, GMT+2), while the three races on the distance of 48 minutes + a lap will take place on Sunday at 11 and 12,10 with separate classes and at 17,10 with all the classes on track.
