The victory in race 2 of the GT Cup class at the Imola circuit during the second round of the Italian GT Championship was claimed by the team of Lorenzo Pegoraro and Simone Patrinicola (Ferrari 488 Challenge Evo2). Representing Best Lap, they deservedly won after an excellent first stint by the Sicilian driver, who maintained a solid second position behind poleman Hancock after starting from the third row of the grid. Pegoraro then completed the job by taking the lead at the beginning of his stint and going on to win a race marked by three safety cars and numerous penalties that significantly altered the final standings.

At the finish line, the Belgian Gilles Renmans (Ferrari 488 Challenge Evo2) and cousins Giacomo and Matteo Pollini (Lamborghini Huracan ST Evo2) initially finished behind the winners. However, post-race, the Double TT Racing driver was penalized by 5 seconds for overtaking under yellow flags, dropping him to fifth place, while the Giacomo Race team received a 10-second penalty for irregularities during the safety car period, relegating them to 11th place. Additional penalties were given to Oliva-D’Auria (+15 seconds) and the Chinese driver Han (+5 seconds), which allowed Carminati-Pellegrini to win the GT Cup Am 1st Division.

Due to these penalties, Tribaudini-Zanon (Lamborghini Huracan ST Evo2-VSR) and the teammates of the winners, Croccolino-Bucci, who finally reached the podium after some unfortunate races, finished behind Pegoraro-Patrinicola. The fourth place went to Polverini-Liana (Porsche 992). The ZRS Motorsport team, first in the GT Cup AM 2nd Division, secured their fourth victory of the season in as many races, positioning themselves early on as favourites for the Italian title.

Renmans ended up finishing in 5th place due to the penalty, ahead of Milner-Hancock (Lamborghini Huracan ST-RS Historics), the Egyptian Badawi (Lamborghini Huracan ST Evo2-DL Racing), and the two Ferrari 488 Challenge Evo2 cars of Di Fabio-Pierantoni (Easy Race) and Lovati-Trentin (Mertel Motorsport). In the GT Cup PRO-AM 2nd Division, Palma-Navatta won with the Porsche 992 from Raptor Engineering.
