At the end of a very competitive race, Ponzio-Gai-Mac (Ferrari 296 GT3-AF Corse) won the 2nd round of the Italian GT Endurance Championship, completing the 180-minute race ahead of the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo2 (VSR) driven by Cazzaniga-Di Folco-Liberati and the Audi R8 LMS (Tresor-Audi Sport Italia) driven by Moncini-Cola-Van Berlo. In the subclasses, Ponzio-Gai-Mac (GT3 PRO-AM) and Colavita-Riccitelli-Ulrich (GT3 AM) claimed victories, while in the GT Cup 1st Division, Di Fabio-Badawi-Testa (PRO-AM) and Agoglia-Croccolino-Marzialetti (AM) triumphed. In the 2nd Division, Berton-Laurini-Peroni (PRO-AM) and Buratti-Van Der Sloot (AM) stood on the podium's top step. In the GT3 class standings, Fisichella-Leclerc-Mosca leads with 38 points, just one point ahead of Mazzola-Delli Guanti-Aka and Cazzaniga-Di Folco-Liberati.

GT3: After their victory in the first race at Vallelunga with the Ferrari 296 GT3 of Scuderia Baldini driven by Fisichella-Leclerc-Mosca, the latest model from Maranello also triumphed in the second round at Mugello Circuit, this time in AF Corse colours. On the challenging Tuscan track, Ponzio-Gai-Mac were impeccable, fully redeeming themselves after misfortune and some technical problems in the season's debut race, which allowed them to bounce back in both the GT3 PRO-AM and overall standings, thanks also to the 12 points earned for the first place secured at the 100th minute, a new feature of the 22nd edition of the Italian series.

The three-hour race in Tuscany was highly contested, featuring three safety cars and scorching heat. The AF Corse team, always in the leading positions, took the lead on the 32nd lap and maintained it until the checkered flag, despite a late challenge from Cazzaniga-Di Folco-Liberati. The VSR team of Vincenzo Sospiri finished ahead of the first of the two Audi R8s, driven by Moncini-Cola-Van Berlo, who climbed from seventh on the grid and engaged in a thrilling final duel with the other car from the Piedmontese team driven by Mazzola-Delli Guanti-Aka, who finished fifth after veering onto the grass to avoid a slow-moving Lamborghini. This incident allowed Costantini-Stadsbader-Michelotto to secure fourth place despite a drive-through penalty early in the race for contact with the BMW of Comandini, while the third Lambo from the Forlì-based team driven by Guidetti-Moulin-Tribaudini climbed from the sixth row to finish sixth, ahead of the Ferrari 296 GT3 of Fisichella-Leclerc-Mosca.

For the Scuderia Baldini crew, who had claimed pole position, it was a race to forget, marred by some misunderstandings in the pits and a 10-second penalty imposed by the race stewards for contact with Bracalente. The driver from Marche, paired with Eliseo Donno in the Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo 2020, finished in eighth place ahead of Deledda-Gilardoni-Rogalski (Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo2-Imperiale Racing), Cassarà-De Luca-Nilsson (BMW M4 GT3-BMW Italia-Ceccato Racing Team), Lorenzo-Alatalo-Raghunathan (Aston Martin Vantage GT3-L&A Infinity), and Colavita-Riccitelli-Ulrich, who claimed victory in GT3 AM with the Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo 2020 of Double TT Racing.

Misfortune struck the BMW M4 GT3 of Comandini-Guerra-Denes, involved in an early contact, the Mercedes AMG GT3 of Sandrucci-Bencivenni-Ferrari (Antonelli Motorsport), hampered by an oil leak after hitting a curb, and the Porsche GT3 R of Fulgenzi-Galbiati. The EF Racing crew led for several laps, but a pit error and subsequent contact with another car prevented the team from Jesi from contending for a podium finish.

GT Cup: The one-make class also featured a fiercely competitive race, won by a new crew making their debut in the endurance series, composed of Diego Di Fabio, Egyptian Badawi, and Portuguese Testa, driving the Lamborghini Huracan ST Evo2. The DL Racing team was consistently among the top positions in the 1st Division PRO-AM, ultimately winning the race and benefiting from a penalty to their teammates Segù-Caiola-Fontana, who finished second, ahead of Demarchi-Di Mare-Patrinicola, third in the 488 of Best Lap.

Ferrari claimed victory in the AM category, thanks to the splendid performance of Agoglia-Croccolino-Marzialetti in the second Ferrari of the Roman team, who topped the podium ahead of D’Auria-Clementi Pisani-Bolger (Lamborghini Huracan ST Evo 2-HC Racing Division) and the Lambo of DL Racing driven by Mainetti-Gattuso-Riva. In the 2nd Division reserved for Porsches, Berton-Laurini-Peroni delivered a great performance in the 992 GT3 Cup of Racevent, finishing second overall in the GT Cup and winning the PRO-AM, ahead of Nicolosi-Di Benedetto-Cazzaniga (Ebimotors). In the AM category, after their victory in the first race at Vallelunga, Van der Sloot-Buratti (EF Racing) repeated their success, finishing ahead of Knez-Fontana (Centri Porsche Ticino).
